Malaysian Danish Business Council members have access to a significant exchange of knowledge between the other Danish chambers of commerce in the region. This is both in terms of insight into what is going on in the surrounding markets in terms of development, opportunities and barriers, but also a platform that offers a wide range of interregional local and online events, company visits, business matchmaking as well as market insights and key-connections.

The DABA Alliance formation
At the workshop 11 out of 12 regional Danish business organisations were represented: Japan, Pan-China (Beijing, Shanghai and South China) Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia and Thailand.
Prior to the workshop a comprehensive survey of the Danish Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations in the region was conducted by Decision Lab a Danish led consultant in Vietnam. The survey included a questionnaire to the board members of the organisations – 57 board members (almost all) answered the questionnaire, and these answers were followed up with a number of in-depth interviews. This survey constituted a very strong baseline for the workshop.
The one-day regional workshop was facilitated by DanCham Japan and Asia House, Copenhagen.
The following document summaries the key outcomes of the workshop and outlines the joint steps forward for establishing “Denmark Asia Business Alliance”.
The workshop was financially supported by the EAC Foundation and Thai Airways International.
